Michele Cuoccios watchsite

Michele Cuoccio, owner of the Russianwatches website and moderator of WatchUSeek s Russian Watches Forum, seems to have put a lot of effort in her Russian watch passion. On April 12, 1961, Yury Gagarin took along the wrist-watch Sturmanskie in the world s first space mission. Since that time Poljot became the trade mark of the First Moscow Watch Factory. If you are passionate about Russian wristwatches as well, you better click here for more…....

Caliber 3135

Andrew Babanin wrote a great essay on the caliber 3135 at TimeZone. He starts his review with the following short, simple but yet so caracteristic introduction, is a manufacture with old traditions and one hundred years of history. is always considered a luxury watch, giving assurance to its owner.I would like to review a quite common model Submariner (Ref. 16610). The case and the bracelet are made of stainless steel. It is a COSC certified automatic chronometer with central seconds and date indicator. There s a special Triplock screwed down crown with increased water protection. And what follows is everything beyond short and simple.. a superb review on the caliber 3135 movement in und...

War of the Worlds

I just got in this email from a friend of mine, Johan. He visitted the cinema last week and they showed a trailer of the upcoming (at least here in The Netherlands it is upcoming) movie War of the Worlds. He noticed that an Omega was being used in the movie and send me this screenshot (don t know how he got it):Seems like a caliber 321 Seamaster chronograph to me.RJ...

Jeremey O Kelly emailed me the following link on the new Rado:Rado V10K at GizModoThe official Rado V10K page is here....

Hmmm...

I m at the Basel fair at the moment, and just wanted to share some thoughts. What I started to feel already last year, seems to be even stronger this year. It looks like I m a bit tired of the next commercially issued model of the same big watch brand. Again a new Speedmaaster Limited edition, again a new commemorative edition, again another variation on well known theme. Patek, Breguet, Glashuette – they all bring slightly modified models, and got their inspiration by carefully listening to the market. One press conference even bigger than the next one, and attendet with even more celibrities and ‘important people.Where are the real watches? Where are the real watch makers? It ...

Sophos (a company who develops anti-virus/spam products) reveals a list of the most common spamwords. You are probably getting spam too, and you might have seen the irritating replica mails in your inbox the last few months. is no. 14 on the list (which can be found here, and is the ‘clean version)Oh well, it is not going to end anyway (soon). This is what got in my inbox this morning :If you are after a Genuine RoIex RepIica then LOOK NO FURTHER. I would like to recommend to you this website. All of the repIica watches you will find here are second to none and nobody will ever know it is not the genuine article. Every little detail has been covered, right down to the little green R...

GMT-Master History

The GMT-Master (II) finally stepped out of the shadow of its diving brother, the Submariner. With the introduction of the ceramic Pepsi and Batman (on Jubilee) recently, the hype is real. Long waiting lists and market prices far over retail result in disappointed customers, but that doesn t seem to slow down the demand. On the contrary.I can imagine why the GMT-Master II is so much in demand. It is a great daily companion, with the added value of an extra timezone. I had my share of GMT-Master watches, including a few vintage 1675s and a GMT-Master II 16710. When I was ready to purchase a GMT-Master II ‘Ceramic or ‘Batman in 2017, I was confronted with the above-mentioned dem...

Are you looking to buy an Omega Speedmaster but don t know where to start? We re here to help! Home today

I am between jobs, last friday was the last day of my old job and tomorrow I start working at a new place. So today I had a day off, and I could use that ?? Finishing all your work and leaving behind your former employer is energyconsuming, at least that s what I found out. This was my first job and I enjoyed it, but now it is time to look for new challenges.Anyway, today I spent most of the time doing stuff inside the house. Cleaning, arranging all my shirts (my new job makes me wear suits) and finally.. finally writing the review on the winder for WatchUseek. I just mailed the finished version to Ernie Romers so it can be posted in a short time. I hope this evening.I also went to the posto...

Watch straps

Besides replacing straps when one is worn out, I am probably not the only one who think it is fun to switch straps once in a while to give a watch a different look.Ever tried to buy a strap for your watch from the original manufacturer? Ever found a tray of Omega straps at the Omega dealer or a tray of IWC straps at the IWC dealer? It is not easy to get accessoires like straps and buckles at your dealer, especially when it is about watchmanufacturer accessoires. Only a few brands have their dealers stocked with buckles and straps, like Sinn, Panerai and I was at one time lucky at an Omega dealer ??Usually, the only other brand for straps at jewelers is Hirsch. However, I can???t find myself ...

Too bad, because it definately makes a statement in his collection!...

Mark V

Although Chuck Maddox wrote that the only true Mark V is a Speedmaster Mark V with caliber 1045 movement, I hereby add the German Special from 1982 with caliber 861 movement to ‘Mark V as well. ??Yesterday (and today) a fellow from a large ICT company configured a server for one of the companies I work for, I noticed at lunch that he was wearing a Speedmaster ‘Mark V . It slipped my mind that it probably would seem a bit ‘sick to start about his watch, but on the other hand, this watch probably cost him quite some money, and since it is quite scarce, I decided to go ahead. He bought this watch in 1982 (which is the only year Omega produced it, for the German market. Produ...

Guess What... !

Guess what did… The last price list from dates back allready to 2001. Three years without a price increase (in Europe at least). So now I heard that I could pick up the new 2005 price list, I was of course somewhat reluctant. How much are they gonna increase over 4 years time… didn t. They even lowered most of the prices from their regular models like Airking, Date, DateJust and even some sports models with a few to tens of Euro s.Am I dreaming? What is happening?Gerard...

The first step is here.. a dedicated forum for Omega Speedmaster watches.I installed a PHPBB forum system on my omega-addict.com site and since today it is up and running. For other non-Speedmaster watches, I suggest you (still) go to WatchUseek s Omega Forum ofcourse.Click the banner below or click here to go to the Speedmaster Forum! It is a bit sparse ofcourse, but it s new ??To prevent confusion, you don t have to be Dutch to join!!...
