The 1858 collection is inspired by the heritage of Minerva, one of Switzerland's most revered timekeeping specialists. With this collection, Montblanc revives the spirit of the legendary watches Minerva has been creating since 1858 and gives them a new, contemporary vintage expression. On the historical side, a fluted crown with a coaxial push-piece is reminiscent of early crowns while the elegant dial is also typical of the period with its large white luminescent Arabic numerals and a railway track. The small seconds at 9 oclock, the chronograph 30-minutes counter at 3 oclock, the retro Montblanc emblem and the large cathedral hands with their cloisonne design filled with white Super-LumiNova? also stay faithful to the original design. Taking the timepiece into the present day, Montblanc has chosen a large 44 mm stainless steel case, deep blue dial and matching blue alligator strap that brings this vintage look a modern dimension, as well as a tachymetric scale for measuring speeds over distance. Completely developed and handcrafted in-house, the Montblanc Calibre MB M16.29 in a large pocket-watch diameter features a monopusher chronograph with column wheel and horizontal disc clutch.
