Introducing: The Longines Conquest Heritage With New Dial Colors

Last year, Longines celebrated the 70th anniversary of its Conquest collection. The brand surprised us with three very attractive re-editions called the Conquest Heritage, each with a central power reserve indicator. But alongside those were two time-only models, one with a black dial and rose gold hardware and another with a silver dial and yellow gold hands and indexes, both available in 38mm and 40mm sizes. Now Longines expands the time-only offerings in the Conquest Heritage collection with three new dial colors and an optional stainless steel bracelet.I went hands-on with the more modern 38mm version of the regular Conquest last year. That s a great option too, but if you re looking for a slightly more vintage-inspired watch with modern-day tech, then the Conquest Heritage is probably more for you. Let s take a quick look at the new dial configurations and the new H-link bracelet. The 38mm version on a 17cm wrist The 40mm version on a 17cm wrist The Longines Conquest HeritageLike many Longines watches, the time-only Conquest Heritage models come in two sizes. The 38mm version measures 45.6mm long, while the 40mm version comes in at 48.1mm from lug to lug. Both versions are just 10.8mm thick. The stainless steel case has an almost fully polished finish, except for the brushed area around the 18K gold medallion on the case back. That medallion is a famous signature of the Longines Conquest that signifies its water resistance. As mentioned, you now have the option to buy the Longines Conquest Heritage on a new stainless steel bracelet. This brushed and polished H-link bracelet looks very similar to the one on the more modern Conquest. However, instead of a butterfly clasp, this new one comes with a single-deployant clasp offering toolless micro-adjustment.You can wind and set the automatic Longines L888 movement inside with the signed crown at 3 o clock. This ETA-based movement runs at a frequency of 25,200vph, features 21 jewels, and holds a comfortable power reserve of 72 hours. New dial colorsLike the Conquest Heritage s case, the dial has a vintage look. This is due to its classically styled indexes and dauphine hands. While the surface has a sunburst finish, there s also a circular-brushed band running underneath the hour markers. The fonts on the dial show inspiration from the Longines archive, but it s nice to see that there are modern Super-LumiNova markers at each hour. The hands also feature a fine line of luminous material, so reading the time in darker conditions shouldn t be impossible. Then, we get to the new dial colors that accompany the black and silver options that were already there. Let s start with the brown one, which comes with hardware in a rose gold color. In darker conditions, the dial looks almost black, but the brown shade makes it look like there s a tropical tint to it. The other option with rose-tone indexes and hands is the green one. I d say the green shade is similar to the one found on the more modern Longines Conquest. The rose-gold-colored details, though, give it a very different look. In my opinion, this is the version that stands out the most of all five options. The last new dial is the blue one with silvered hardware. This version is my favorite. I know, it s not very out there, but it looks so good! I m not a fan of rose gold in general, so that also makes it the easy winner for me.Available nowThe Longines Conquest Heritage was already great with a black or silver dial. But the new brown, green, and blue dial colors add a modern touch to the overall vintage-inspired styling. The 38mm and 40mm cases ensure there s an option for everyone here, whether you like slightly smaller or bigger watches. With my 17cm wrist, I d go for the 38mm model. In terms of pricing, it doesn t matter whether you choose the smaller or the bigger version.
